
Cinzia Bianco
SENIOR ADVISOR
Dr. Cinzia Bianco is a London and Berlin-based Gulf expert who contributes to numerous think tanks and outlets including the Middle East Institute, the Italian Review of Geopolitics “Limes”, and the Middle East Policy Council. Throughout her career, Dr. Bianco has served as a research fellow for the Institute for International Affairs (Italy) in the context of the European Commission’s “Sharaka” project, while based in Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE. Since 2015, she is a non-resident research fellow at TRENDS Research & Advisory Abu Dhabi. She has also been working as the Gulf Research Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) from 2019. Dr. Bianco has published academic papers, think tank reports, articles and book chapters and has given lectures or presentations in different settings in the US, Europe and the Gulf. She received her M.A. in Middle East and Mediterranean studies from King’s College London and her PhD from the Institute for Arab and Islamic Studies at the University of Exeter, UK. Her PhD research focused on the evolution of Gulf security after the 2011 Arab uprisings.
